Charlie Scott, a former NBA player and standout at the Univeristy of North Carolina, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of bankruptcy fraud.
Scott, 43, who lives in the Atlanta suaburb of Roswell, will be sentenced July 31. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
U.S. Attorney Joe Whitley said Scott forged a signature on a bankruptcy petition and falsely represented to the bankruptcy court the employment, income and assets of another person.
